A legend returns. When Mark Shelton made his first recordings with his newly formed band Manilla Road in 1977, he certainly had no idea that 35 years later, in 2012, he would be performing in Scandinavia, Germany, England or Canada. And the fact that he invented a genre called “Epic Metal” only became apparent over the years. After two albums in the early eighties in which metal and 70s rock shook hands, it was the LP “Crystal Logic” (1983) and the song “Flaming Metal Systems” that got the trio from Wichita on track. “THE BLESSED CURSE” brings together all the trademarks that have made Manilla Road one of the most influential and successful cult bands. Not only is Neudi's drumming reminiscent of Randy Foxe's style, the songs also reflect 35 years of Manilla Road. From short sledgehammers to 10-minute epics, all in a natural sound, you can find the entire range of their unique style on the CD. And of course all the lyrics tell stories, another trademark of the band. “THE BLESSED CURSE” is the Manilla Road album that fans have been waiting for.
