Offered is a very rare vintage Lenox figurine called "Mistress Mary"in a variation not described in the Lenox catalogue. The coloring is a pale green dress with a pink floral motif and white lace ruffle.  These figurines were made in the 1940's and 1950's, designed by Patricia Jean Eakin. Her initials "PJE" are impressed in the base.  There were a very limited number of designs made by Lenox, approximately 15 different figurines that we have found reference to in manuals. They were produced in very limited quantities and rarely are seen on the open market. This particular figurine is called "Mistress Mary" and is 6 1/4" tall. It is 6 3/4" wide at the base. This figurine has lace above the bottom ruffle of the dress and on the bodice and sleeves. The lace has very slight damage on the bottom ruffle, none on the top or arms. To quote from The Official Price Guide to American Pottery & Porcelain: "Damage is very common and does not affect the value all that much if limited to minor lace damage or a missing finger". This figurine is missing two finger tips on the hand holding the basket and four finger tips on the right hand. There is a small 1/8" chip to the base of the dress near a fold, very hard to see. This is a beautiful example of Lenox art at its best. In the US, shipping, packing and insurance are included in the purchase price. Outside the US, $30.00.
