This nifty, business cover(with 2-page letter on Chinese Telegraph Company stationery!) was sent from Shanghai, China, to Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, on January 13, 1939! The stamp was cancelled with an English-language CDS, most likely from the Nagasaki Post Office after its arrival there by ferry. It's impossible to be sure(the cancel is unfortunately hard to make out), but I have had other mail dealt with in the same way. As for the green, 4-Sen, Japanese definitive, outside of having some of its left side perfs folded over at some point, and a couple of stains on some bottom perfs, it is in pretty good condition. The envelope does have some damage to its top, and stains in that area, too. The back flap is 70% complete, and a bit jagged due to how the mail was originally opened. Noted imperfections aside, this remains a pretty neat piece of Japanese and Chinese postal history!
