This nifty, Japanese post card of a cable car servicing Mt. Takao(in Beppu City; in very good-fine condition, with few stains, but a few creases and scuffs on its front) was sent to Taipei, Taiwan(then occupied by the Japanese), from Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, Japan, on April 23, 1935(a superb strike of the machine cancel from the Beppu P.O.!) The blue, 1.5-Sen, Japanese definitive is in fine condition! Interestingly, and sadly, the writer talks about hearing about the horrible destruction caused in Taiwan due to a 7.1 M. earthquake that occurred in Taichung, Taiwan, on April 21, 1935, two days prior to this mail being sent! Noted imperfections aside, this remains a really attractive, uncommon, piece of Taiwanese and Japanese postal history!
