This unique, Japanese post card of the then, newly-built, Meiji Shrine(in very good-fine condition, with some stains, and a few, minor creases) was sent for Tainan, Taiwan(then occupied by the Japanese), to Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, Japan, on November 1, 1920(quite superb strikes of the fancy, purple, commemorative(to commemorate the completion of Meiji Shrine) CDSs on either of the commemorative stamps, Scott # 160(While the stamp on the back is in fine condition, the one on the face does have some stains on it due to the post card having been put in an album at some point)!; only one was necessary, though, to pay the postage!)! Interestingly, the Scott #210(in fine condition!) was put on the post card some 10 years later, in 1930, and cancelled with the special, cancel used to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the dedication of Meiji Shrine!)! The sender of this mail seems to have been very much into the Japanese Imperial Family, and things connected to them, like Meiji Shrine, built in honor of the Meiji Emperor and Empress! Noted imperfections aside, this remains a really attractive, uncommon, piece of Taiwanese and Japanese postal history!
