This neat, quite uncommon, Japanese Naval mail(a traditional, summer greeting card!) was sent on July 10, 1908from a Japanese sailor serving aboard the Shikishima-class, pre-dreadnought battleship, H.I.J.M. "Shikishima!" The ship was operating out of the Sasebo Naval Base at the time of writing. The addressee was a school in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, likely one that the sailor had once attended.

To continue, as for the blue, 1.5-Sen Japanese postal stationery card, it's in pretty good condition! The CDS from the Sasebo P.O. is superb! The receiving cancel(7/11/08) from the Kumamoto P.O. is also quite nice!

Lastly, as for the postal stationery card, itself, it's in pretty good condition. Outside of some ink stains at the back, it's pretty clean. There is some minor wear and tear around the edges. And, the card does not exactly lie flat. Noted imperfections aside, this is still a very attractive piece of Imperial Japanese Naval postal history!
