Operation Ivy features material from the early 7" releases by American ska-punk band from Berkeley, California, formed in May 1987 and consisted of Jesse Michaels (lead vocals), Dave Mello (drums), and Tim Armstrong (guitar, vocals) and Matt Freeman (bass, vocals) from the band Rancid.
