Far Out/Far East Family Band – Far Out
Hugely rare Europe-only compilation of material from Far Out and the Far East Family Band. With strong Pink Floyd, German cosmic, and Japanese folk influences, the album is a blend of the progressive, psychedelic, and Japanese elements. Though he’s uncredited, the Far East Family Band material (songs 3-9) features the keyboardist and future new age composer, Kitaro (born: Masanori Takahashi).
Tracks 1 & 2 are from the original Far Out LP released in 1973 on Denon in Japan.
Tracks 3-9 are from the Far East Family Band album The Cave Down To Earth, released in 1974.
